Theists believe that the Universe is governed by a single being who
rules according to absolute wisdom, grace, power and justice. His
wisdom and grace implies that He creates a universe with the best
possible order and most goods and perfection. A universe which is, as
He Himself, perfect and pure good. At the first glance, however, we
find the universe lacking goodness, i. e. a universe endowed with
Vices and evils. These Vices may be regarded as either metaphysical,
natural, or moral.
These questions and the like put the Divine attributes such as
His Omniscience & Omnipotent, Tawhid (Oneness) Divine Justice,
His Grace, divine absolute Wisdom and Power under doubt. The
author is attempting to propose solutions posed by Islamic
philosophers in this regard. Different approaches taken by some
contemporary philosophers such as J.L. McGee and the answer
offered by the contemporary philosopher of religion, Alvin Plantinga,
will be further studied.
